Diana joined the Hertz Farm Management staff in Sept of 1983.  She has had various job descriptions over the years.  Currently she is coordinator of our farm accounting division, overseeing daily transactions and working closely with program development.  

Diana and her husband, Doug, live north of Nevada, IA where they run a farming operation.  Along with row crops they raise Purebred Maine-Anjou cattle and show pigs.  Their children Todd, Amy, and Cory help with operation and livestock.  

Diana has completed the Leadership Nevada course. She served on the Story County 4-H Foundation Board, was a 4-H Leader, an advisor for the Iowa Jr Maine-Anjou Assoc. and serves on the Iowa Swine Jackpot Series Exe Board.

Carrie Seidel joined Hertz Farm Management in April of 2018 as a farm manager in Mason City, IA.  Prior to joining Hertz, she spent 4 years as a District Sales Manager for Wyffels Hybrids.

She graduated from Iowa State University in May of 2014 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Studies and a Minor in Agronomy.  While attending college, she was active in various clubs and studied abroad in both Brazil and Australia.  She held multiple internships ranging from crop scouting to agronomy sales. 

Carrie grew up on a dairy farm in Northeast Iowa.  She is married to her husband, Parker, and lives in Dumont, IA on his family’s land.  Both she and her family enjoy spending time outdoors.

She is a licensed Real Estate Agent in both Iowa and Minnesota.  Carrie is also a member of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers, Mason City Rotary Club, and the Agri-Business Committee with the Mason City Chamber of Commerce.  Her accreditations include being a Certified Crop Advisor and an Accredited Farm Manager.

Spencer has served clients with Hertz Farm Management since the spring of 2016. He began his career in the Cedar Falls, IA office before relocating to Monticello, IL in 2019. Today, he works as a farm manager, real estate broker, and auctioneer, serving clients across Illinois and Indiana.

Spencer graduated from Illinois State University with a B.S. in Agriculture Business with an emphasis in Farm Management. He was named the 2023 Land Broker of the Year by the Illinois Chapter of the REALTORS® Land Institute. In 2024, Spencer was recognized nationally through the RLI Leadership Awards, earning the Land Rising Star Award, which recognizes a land professional who demonstrates promise and is on their way to making significant contributions to the land profession and to RLI. 

Spencer brings a great deal of energy and firsthand farm experience to Hertz and his clients, rooted in his upbringing near Bloomington, Illinois—the heart of Central Illinois agriculture. He is active in numerous professional organizations and serves on various boards and committees. Outside of work, Spencer enjoys farming, spending time outdoors, time with family, and working with his two bird dogs, Rip and Wren.

Chris Smith joined Hertz Real Estate Services in January 2012, expanding the Nevada, Iowa, office in agricultural real estate sales and farm management.

Chris is an active member of the Realtors Land Institute (RLI), serving as the Iowa Chapter President in 2016. Chris is also a member of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ASFMRA) where he is working towards his accredited Farm Manager designation. Chris is an achieved auctioneer specializing in land sales. 

With a strong belief in community activities, Chris volunteers his time for the Drake Relays, Knights of Columbus, Habitat for Humanity, and various school activities.

He grew up on a family farm near Malcom, Iowa. Chris, his wife Erin, and their children live in West Des Moines.

Adam joined Hertz Farm Management in February 1999. His strong farming background, agronomy skills, and relationships with many farmers have given him the knowledge and experience to be a successful farm manager.

Adam’s experience with farming goes back to childhood where he grew up and helped operate his family farm in southeast Iowa. This allowed Adam to gain experience with daily chore activities and recommendations on fertilizer, seed, and chemicals. While working at Cenex Land O’ Lakes, he was a seed team leader and an Eagle Squadron Member.

Adam is an active member of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers and an Iowa licensed real estate salesperson.
