Biography

John joined the Hertz Farm Management team in January of 2024 as a Professional Farm Manager in the Geneseo, IL Office. In this role, John manages farms, along with evaluating and marketing agricultural real estate for landowners in Northern Illinois.

John graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2021 with a bachelor's degree in agriculture economics. During his time at Illinois, he was involved in many clubs, traveled abroad to Panama, and lived on the University's Beef Farm. Throughout high school and college, he worked on a large beef cow/calf and row crop operation, where he developed a passion for agriculture. Upon graduating college, John was a Sales Agronomist for Rock River Lumber & Grain in Northern Illinois for 2 years, where he gained extensive agronomic knowledge. He is involved in many professional organizations where he serves in various leadership roles in the community.

John and his Fiancé, Gretchen live in Sterling, IL.
